TALLE-RSL Celebrates International Literacy Day 08th September 2022

Our Dear Friends,
We are very happy to celebrate the 2022 International Literacy Day (ILD) with you. We are happy to inform you that this year’s ILD celebration met us in the FIELD, working with our partner CODE Canada in implementing GRP-Literacy and Sexual Related Health Rights& School Gender-Based Violence activities of the ”Transforming Girls’ Education Project” (TGEP)-a project that focuses on supporting Teachers and Tertiary Educators to use inclusive and appropriate gender-parity pedagogies that promote sustainable quality learning outcomes among girls and boys in fragile/rural-rural communities in Sierra Leone.
We also visited our model schools in Freetown to share ILDA’s relevance with teachers and pupils. Further, we distributed books to pupils and teachers and did read-aloud and interactive sessions using community and learner-centred strategies for meaningful teaching of literacy skills.
So, as we celebrate this DAY, we MUST think conjointly to renew our resolve in doing our BEST in working sincerely and jointly to constitute a United Front that will drive the ”Teaching for Learning” philosophy which prioritizes meaningful and effective teaching and learning, mentoring, monitoring and supervision of the operations of the education system for the academic well-being of ”Our Children-Our Future”‘
We thank you All for reading our stories.
