Askee Bee Gbla
Aske Bee Gbla is the Executive Director of the Association of Language and Literacy Educators – Reading Sierra Leone (TALLE-RSL) and a Literacy Consultant for classroom pedagogy.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Education at Njala University (2000-2002), a Diploma in Adult Education, Fourah Bay College 1988-1989), Bachelor of Arts Degree ( 1969- 1974), Babcock University, Nigeria. He is also a Certified Lead trainer in lower and upper grades pedagogy.
As part of his work experience, he has served as Lecturer, Warden of students, and head of the Department of Sierra Leone Languages at the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology (1990-2020). He has served as chief examiner for the West Africa Examination Council and The National Council for Technical, Vocational, and Other Academic Awards(1996-date) and the award of Teachers Certificate and Higher Teachers Certificate(1996- 2019)
In the religious sphere, Aske Bee Gbla has served as a pastor, administrative secretary of the Seventh Day Adventist Mission in Sierra Leone (1983-1990), and teacher at the Milton Comprehensive Secondary School, Bo and the Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School, Yele (19881990). Aske has also served as a Medical Laboratory Technician at the Masanga Leprosy hospital (1968-1970). He is also a member of the Sierra Leone Adult Education Association and People Education Association. He is the author of several books written in Kathemne, a poet, translator, editor, and consultant for the translation of the Holy Bible in Kathemne for the Sierra Leone Bible Society (1996-date).
