TALLE-RSL BOARD MEETING 24 FEB 2024
TALLE-RSL_CONDUCTED 2023_BOARD MEETING-24 FEB 2024.
We have successfully held our 2023 Board Meeting which is a requirement for registered and functioning NGOs in Sierra Leone. This hinges on our upholding of best practices in response to our commitment to maintain credibility and compliance with rules and regulations governing NGO operations in Sierra Leone. The meeting created the context for TALLE-RSL Management to account to board members on making a presentation on the following:
1. Narrative report on 2023 project activities and management
2. Financial report indicating 2023 funds and expenditure
3. Presentation of 2022 Audit Report.
4. Presentation and confirmation of policies such as child protection, risk management, health and safety, safeguarding, data, procurement, human resources, conflict of interest management, gender equality and social inclusion, gender, and recruitment.
Board attendees discussed and made submissions with the following conclusions:
- The lawyer should review the policies for endorsement.
- The 2022 Audit was confirmed faultless and endorsed.
- The 2023 Audit must commence in March 2024
- TALLE-RSL management should be supported by the Board to optimise contacts with new NGO partners for project contacts and implementation of activities.
- Advocacy in Transforming Education should be upgraded to reach out to more education stakeholders in rural communities.
- Accepted the commencement of pending project activities
- Endorsed intervention in promoting Mother Tongue Education.
- Upgrade publicity: website, Twitter, Facebook, WatSap and mass media.
- Involve radical inclusion strategies in conducting in-service training of teachers and teacher educators.
The meeting ended with Board Members exchanging pleasantries and commendations to the TALLE-RSL Management for the successful outcomes of the sessions of the meeting.
